ze Roof Apocalyptic Storm Moments

Over the past few years I’ve been riveted by imagery and the stories behind the captures by photographers across the planet participating in storm chasing. Mother Earth unleashing incredibly visually compelling yet frighteningly disturbing natural events, ripe for people who desire documenting such fury. Cloudscapes of varying structures, enveloping the sky, covering the horizon as far as one can see. Winds picking up, objects fluttering/flying through the air, birds whooshing away, looking for cover. Lightning charging through the air, reaching down, thunder exploding and reverberating across the landscape. 


So, how does one go about participating?


Heading out to varying locations across the central section of the United States, or certain sites across the world wasn’t economically feasible for me. It’s amazing how so many people can take time off to conduct storm chasing, sometimes for extended periods of weeks or months. Since this was never ever going to happen, maybe there was something I could do that was closer to home. And then I had an epiphany - ze roof! There are incredibly powerful storms which sweep across New York City during late spring into summer - why not focus on what’s happening literally in my own back yard.


This eBook is composed of 6 monstrous apocalyptic storm events which I was able to document (either being off from work or playing hooky). Incredibly appreciative being available to witness these naturalistic events in person. It was surreal being on ze rooftop during these storms. Having a fierce cloudscape push across the sky, covering everything while walls of water are approaching you rapidly is a sight I’ll never forget. What a pleasure it is to share the experience with you the reader!
