Winston Vargas retrata la comunidad Dominicana en Washington Heights.
En 1952, con solo 9 años de edad, Winston Vargas llega con su familia a Washington Heights en Nueva York, desde Santiago. A muy temprana edad Winston se interesa por la fotografía y comienza a retratar su vecindario, una práctica que mantiene hasta el día de hoy. El cuerpo de trabajo de Winston Vargas sobre Washington Heights es único, captura la formación y evolución de esta comunidad dominicana en un lugar que hoy se conoce oficialmente como “Little Dominican Republic”.

In 1952 with only 9 year old, Winston Vargas along with his family, moved from Santiago to Washington Heights. At a very young age Winston was drawn by photography and began photographing his neighborhood, a practice he sustains to this day. Winston Vargas’ body of work about Washington Heights it's merely unique, he portrays the beginnings and evolution of this Dominican community in an area that today is officially known as “Little Dominican Republic”.
