‘Call’ to Vegas
A Timothy Beckon novel
Descripción editorial
What do you get when crossing Illuminati with Antifa in Las Vegas? That’s what Timothy Beckon finds while answering a ‘call’ for help from Annie Thompson, his close friend from LA. She is desperate to find her missing partner. In short time, Tim discovers Dex does not want to be found as she pursues an Illuminati way of living in Vegas. A cagey but intelligent casino surveillance agent, Sterling Crisp, comes into the picture, instrumental in the search. Running parallel to this story is an intriguing account of how the folks back at MAC Security Consulting take-on a will contest case with camera in-hand. Back in Vegas, Tim supports Annie as they scour ‘The Strip’ and eventually head down the infamous Route 66. It reaches a point when they get surrounded by some really bad people bent on erasing them from the scene. Tim evens the score in the only way he knows and heads bounce off walls, literally, in a Vegas club restroom, a decrepit trailer on the edge of the San Bernardino wilderness, and, in all places, a plush golf course proximal to Vegas. Our hero goes at it through ranger tactics, capoeira combatting, boxing ring skills, and good ol’ street fighting. But, violence gets scaled back when Tim crosses paths with a disillusioned Antifa member, Chakra. Her quirky antics give Tim pause while her passion turns briefly into intimacy. Well, that’s another matter. Chakra has a knack of bringing all the characters together in a warm and cozy familial relationship—something they certainly need. All throughout this ‘call,’ Tim comes to understand the importance of secrecy and concealment especially when it applies to ‘what happens in Vegas ... .’ Oh well, you know the rest.
