Descripción editorial
The mythical Salivolpe (or Saligolpe), as the original Etruscan settlement of Castellina was called, was situated at the intersection of two ridge roads typical of pre-Roman times. One road wound along the heights that make up the watershed between the valley of Pesa and the valley of Arbia and that branched off from the major chain of the Chianti hills. The other road followed the course of the hills that divide valley of Pesa from the Valdelsa, also running along the ridge.
