Some Do Not ‪…‬

Some Do Not... introduces Christopher Tietjens, a reserved, intelligent, and principled man who belongs to the English upper class. At the start of the novel, Christopher is a young man of honor and duty, working as a civil servant in London, while attempting to navigate his personal and public life. He is deeply affected by the loss of his father and is involved in an unhappy marriage to Sylvia, a beautiful and manipulative woman who is emotionally distant and unfaithful. The novel explores Christopher's inner turmoil as he grapples with the contrasting demands of duty, personal desires, and the broader societal changes sweeping through Edwardian England. He is fiercely loyal to the traditional values of the upper class, particularly in matters of honor and family, yet his personal life is marked by betrayal and isolation.
