The Homework Debate

Descripción editorial

Is homework beneficial for students? The homework debate still lives on. Some of its vital critics include teachers, students, and families. A variety of teachers agree that homework is an essential part of learning in the classroom. Because of this assumption the purpose of homework is often overlooked and abused amongst students. Students do not understand the meaning behind their homework assignments if they are not given an explanation behind their take-home tasks. When students are overwhelmed with large amounts of homework, then parents feed off of this stress. Parents often want to be available for their children, but they also want to be able to spend quality family time with them. Most individuals hold a positive or negative attitude towards homework depending on the way in which the teacher uses it in the classroom.
