To Marinnn

And if you think you should load your three kids up into the family station wagon and drive off of a bridge into the ocean, do it. You're right, everyone knows how to raise their kids correctly that's why we don't need prisons or laws. I hope you don't have children you whack job.

It may not be for everyone, but it doesn't claim to be.

I believe in actually reading a book before just saying, "No," Marinnn. Anyone with a brain knows that no books like this are to be taken as a Bible, they're simply tips and suggestions. All of the advice featured most likely won't work on every single kid, but if you actually listen (or in this case, read) to what someone has to say, you may be surprised.

Excellent- Information packed Must Read for Parents/Upcoming Parents with Infants - 5 yes

Ultimately, the book's goal is to communicate how to create the optimal environment for your child to thrive in all areas of life (physically, emotionally, socially, and developmentally.) It includes the most current research, which shows that the environment(defined not only by just the physical space) but also by the behaviors of the parents and other caregivers - is the number one determinant of a child's future in all of the above areas of life.

The book covers child health and development from birth to age five, and even covers some research on in-utiro. Among the team of authors, two are pediatricians, one with a specialty in developmental pediatrics. The book covers different parenting styles and family dynamic styles and how they tend to work for developing children. It reviews ways parents can maximize their individual child's interests and talents, while not having to be an overzealous "superparent". It covers everything from food, health, vaccinations to neurology to child psychology to parental-child behavior, etc. All kinds of new advanced research is referenced and explained throughout the book.

The book's suggestions are easy to implement, easy to understand and follow. It is an easy read. I thought I would just sit down and start going through it, and the next thing I knew, I had read 120 pages in no time, and easily absorbed all kinds of new helpful information!
