Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that takes over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed.
Wanderer, the invading 'soul' who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.
The book rocks!
Honestly, Stephenie Meyer is a GREAT author. I felt like I could feel Wanda's and Mel's pain (and Bella's, in Twilight). Not all authors can create that... atmosphere.
She doesn't write fantastic sentences, but that's not the most important thing in a book.
Why isn't there more of her work on Itunes?
I just read this book, and it is amazing. Stephenie Meyer is a fantastic author, and I reccomend buying the audiobook instead of the book-not only is it cheaper than in a good book store, you can listen while you're on the go. WARNING: Sequels coming soon, may get addictive...
I read this book 5 times, and I really believe that Stephany Meyer is genius!! If anyone dislikes this book, you must be crazy, it is awesome! The Twilight Saga is just as good (if not better) than The Host, and I believe it is a work of art.
ILYSFM Stephanie Meyer!! Keep up the good work!!
