APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Thriller writer Riley Sager delivers a clever, twisty nod to Rear Window in this psychological suspense novel about voyeurism. When an overexposed actor takes shelter at a Vermont lake house, she finds solace in drinking and observing her glamorous neighbours’ seemingly idyllic lives. But when she crosses paths with them, several details arouse her curiosity, even before one half of the couple goes missing. This gripping story plays on readers’ well-trained expectations and peppers the plot with dry wit, unreliable narration and serious surprises. By the end, you won’t know whom to trust or what’s going to happen next. That sensation is only enhanced by the audiobook narration by Stephanie Cannon, who leans into the story’s subtle emotional clues.
