WINNER OF THE QBD AWARD FOR BEST FICTION BOOK OF THE YEAR
From the bestselling author of The Wife and the Widow and The Nowhere Child.
When human remains are discovered in a forest, police are baffled, the locals are shocked and one group of old friends starts to panic. Their long-held secret is about to be uncovered.
It all began in 1999 when sixteen-year-old Aaron ran away from home, drawing his friends into an unforeseeable chain of events that no one escaped from unscathed.
In The Ledge, past and present run breathlessly parallel, leading to a cliff-hanger nobody will see coming. This is a mind-bending new novel from the master of the unexpected.
'Christian White is the master of the big twist. I loved it.' CHRIS HAMMER
'The Ledge is a coming of age story where not everybody comes of age. I promise you won't see the twist coming.' MICHAEL ROBOTHAM
‘It is not enough to say that it is unputdownable. If his other books hadn’t before, this novel certainly cements Christian White as an incredible, chilling voice in the Australian crime genre.’ READINGS
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Christian White has steadily developed a reputation for penning down-to-earth thrillers that surprise the reader in the most satisfying ways. His fourth novel continues that streak, expertly alternating between past and present to follow the devastating ripple effect caused by the disappearance of a 16-year-old boy in 1999. A seasoned veteran of narrating homegrown thrillers, actor Nic English guides us through this tandem story with the perfect mix of punchy urgency and world-weary resignation. As the plot revisits the close-knit dynamics of a group of young male friends, White takes unflinching measure of Australian masculinity both then and now. And when the twist hits, you’ll need some serious time to steady yourself and regain your bearings.

Great book!
Everything by Christian White is incredible.
How did I miss it?
Great listening. I was in traffic at the end of this book and had to pull over and rewind as I realised who it was and will have to listen all over again now! :)
Amazing
Twisty and turny with complicated and conflicted characters. I didnt know what to think and how to feel for most of the book and couldn’t stop listening. The narrator was perfect.
