About the author
Bernard Cornwell was born in London, raised in Essex and
worked for the BBC for eleven years before meeting Judy, his
American wife. Denied an American work permit he wrote a
novel instead and has been writing ever since. He and Judy

Good read
The ending was tidied up a bit quickly but a very enjoyable book that was difficult to put down.
Good. Not his best though
Firstly I love Bernard's work, having read nearly everything he's done, he's made history positively engaging.
I do think though he's starting to get a little repetitive, every other chapter has the same description of how a war bow is made and how archers are almost superhuman in strength ... I get it Bernard !
Anyway, some great characters, especially the black prince who comes across as a badass, fun loving legend deserving of his own book!
