It’s a murder mystery, with the future at stake
Firstly, it’s not Lee Child’s protagonist, just happens to be his name. OTOH this was a good read, finished it with a day - always a good sign.
Moves along at a good pace, setting is easy to imagine (kind of a olde Raymond Chandler feel). Characters are well defined, but get a little confusing towards the end when the whole intrigue/imitation gets resolved.

I really enjoyed this short story all the characters were believable.
