In a brutal world, charismatic rebel miner Mack McAsh - a slave by birth - is a man with the courage to stand up for what is right, and the strength to stick by his beliefs. Great
The first Ken Follett book I read an I've been hooked since. His writing takes me to another world and this book is no exception.
A favourite
This is one of the best books i have e ever read, just like all of this authors books - recommended!
So hard to put down.
Like all of Ken Follett books, this one has wonderful characters that draw you into their lives. Love, betrayal and loyalty woven into historical events. Perhaps the best aspect of this like other novels is Ken's ability to place strong female heroes in the heart of the tale.
