Publisher Description

Midwife Cath has delivered more than 10,000 babies over the last 40 years, but her care of mothers and babies doesn't end when they leave the hospital. She strongly believes that all families need ongoing support, particularly in their first crucial year of parenting.

After the First Six Weeks is a follow-up to Midwife Cath's bestselling book The First Six Weeks. Week six is a major milestone for both babies and parents, and this comprehensive guidebook will provide a roadmap to 'what's next'-starting at six weeks and taking you through to the end of the first 12 months.

Midwife Cath covers all the joys and challenges of your child's first year at home, focusing on such issues as breast and bottle feeding; the introduction of solids; sleep; growth and development; the importance of play; safety; and her Bath Bottle Bed (BBB) routine and how it evolves over these 12 months.

Midwife Cath's invaluable experience and wisdom will help you establish routines that will ensure a healthier, happier baby and better-rested, more confident parents.

OR OCD ,

Thank you

I’ve used every bit of advice in this book to help me navigate parenting after the first six weeks. It has helped my wife and I with our son immensely. The BBB routine and passive settling have been the best tools to helping our son sleep well. Thank you midwife Cath

Wonderful follow up

The first six weeks was a huge help for me with my first Bub except when it was over, I thought “ok, but now what! I need more Midwife Cath guidance!” Love her straightforward, non-judgemental & no-nonsense approach. So easy to read & come back to when you need it. Highly recommend to any first time mums! Or second time for that matter!

Didn’t like the advice Cath gave in this book.

I’m pregnant with my 1st child and read Cath’s 1st book which has some really good takeaways from it which we will implement however her 2nd book I’m not too keen on. To me Cath is portraying that a mum needs to spend all day feeding and doing tummy time with their child just to get them to sleep better at night. How realistic is this when you still need to go out, do food shopping, cook, clean etc. I feel that this is setting unrealistic expectations for parents and After the First 6 weeks hasn’t given us any tips or tricks. It’s giving me more confidence to trust our own instincts and see what happens.
