Aged for murder
An improbable lead character but the story is okay
Good Read
Well paced and had you guessing. I enjoyed the read.
Nope, can’t finish it.
Aged for Murder by Fiona Grace
I’m not going to finish this, I’m at the 72% mark, I’ve been skimming paragraphs for a while now.
The murder doesn’t happen until half way through the book.
The protagonist is 34, an inane person, who apparently leads a nationwide advertising campaign (so organises money, people, tasks). Who after a hugely successful product launch, has a change of heart. Some events cascade badly, she resigns ‘on the spot’ even though her contract says she has to give notice.
Then when the corporation says the immediate resignation is in breach of contract and pauses her payments, she ‘forgets’ she own a property that she lives in, that she can sell to pay for her relocation.
While in Tuscany, where most of the story is set, they start on producing wine from grapes. Puts grape juice in bowl, adds way too much yeast, covers with lid, and cooks. Gas builds up and lids come off, right? Nope - in this story the lid clamps down, two people can’t remove it, bowl & lid go outside, where it explodes as you’d expect.
Story-Pace - glacial,
World-building - poor, so no excuse for the pace.
Characters - simple, stereotypical.
Aged for Murder by Fiona Grace is not a book I’ll finish 1/5

Key: bad 1/5, ok 2/5, good 3/5, great 4/5, unusually outstanding 5/5
