Animal Cruelty Tickled Funnybones (Local History‪)‬

In the spiel given by tour guides at Niagara Falls over the years is the assertion that a cat was in the barrel with Annie Edson Taylor when she rode in it over the Horseshoe Falls on Oct. 24, 1901. Many people, especially youngsters, including some young relatives I have accompanied on tours, don't seem too interested in the welfare of Annie, but want to know first off if the cat survived.
