Publisher Description
When we were only kids, Sam Harris and I made a promise we'd marry each other if we were still single when we turned thirty. Well, my thirtieth birthday has come and gone and I'm still as single as ever.
And as far as I know, so is Sam.
But it's been ages since we've seen each other, and after what he did to me our senior year of college, I wouldn't put his ring on my finger even if begged he me to marry him. Never mind his devilish good looks. Or the fact that the playboy partier is a doctor now.
Nope, I'm sticking to my guns with this, and when I go back to Silver Ridge for the first time in years, I won't pay him the slightest of attention. Well…until he convinces me to go out for drinks to catch up. I knew it was a bad idea the moment I agreed to it.
And then he brings up our childhood promise.
It might be fun and games to him, but it's not to me. Because as much as I don't want to admit it, Sam has always been my first choice. And I don't want to be nothing more than his backup plan.
Customer Reviews
Good read
Really enjoyed the characters & story line.
Great start to the series
This is the first book I have read by this author but it certainly won’t be the last because if this story is anything to go by Ms Godwin’s other books should be in my radar. Backup Plan is a sweet, second chance, friends to lovers romance and it will appeal to all romance lovers.
Chloe and Sam grew up in the same town, they both had crushes on each other throughout their teenage years but fate stepped in and incident ruined their friendship and both moved on and away. Fate seems to be working again as this couple find themselves back home at the same time could this time around prove they should be together or will the past be too much to forget.....
Please be warned this story does end on a cliffhanger but I understand the next book is coming out in October so not too long to wait. This is a well written romance that touched me on so many levels, I loved Sam and Chloe and I loved their story. Looking forward to the next book from Emily Goodwin.
Predictable
And boring
