Publisher Description

Book 4 in the Rivers of London series, from Sunday Times Number One bestselling author Ben Aaronovitch.

A mutilated body in Crawley. Another killer on the loose. The prime suspect is one Robert Weil - an associate of the twisted magician known as the Faceless Man? Or just a common garden serial killer?

Before PC Peter Grant can get his head round the case, a town planner going under a tube train and a stolen grimoire are adding to his case-load. So far so London.

But then Peter gets word of something very odd happening in Elephant and Castle, on an housing estate designed by a nutter, built by charlatans and inhabited by the truly desperate. Is there a connection? And if there is, why oh why did it have to be South of the River?

Broken Homes

As always, BA's story is well woven with a wondrous "Londony" essence.
The forth instalment of Peter's weird life provides little further insight to the main character who must endure further mysterious murders and mayhem. Whilst there is a feeling that he is gaining a greater control over his tenuous links with the London alternate society, he is yet again shown the rough end of the pineapple. The intricate plot relies heavily on the previous titles and the end is nowhere near the end... We now have to wait for more, please.

Excellent

Gets better and better with each book.

Didn't live up to expectations

Unfortunately not as good as all of the preceding books. The story was no where near as engaging, and seemed to waffle on a bit with no real focus.
