Publisher Description
Does he dare to love her?
After his mother goes too far in her attempts to marry him off to a woman of social standing, Dillon Hatcher follows in his brother's footsteps and escapes to his grandparents' house. Though he misses breeding the American Quarter horses at home, he's happy to help the horse rescues at Last Chance Ranch. What he's not happy about is Hailey Pennington literally dropping in. Do his mother's schemes know no bounds?
Hailey, "the Hellion" as her brothers fondly call her, has been crushing on Dillon for over a year, so when she discovers he's moved to Last Chance, she takes the opportunity to meet up with him without his mother's interference. It doesn't take long for her to see the man is open to a relationship…as long as it isn't with one of his mother's favorites. Just her luck, that's exactly what she is.
Determined not to fall for Hailey, Dillon finds himself becoming far too interested in her. But before he can decide which is more important, denying his mother or pursuing his own happiness, fate steps in, leaving him no choice at all.
Customer Reviews
Heartfelt, fun, romantic
There are some authors who just make a reader feel like they’re coming home….and Lexi Post is definitely one. Dillon’s Dare is book 5 in the Last Chance series, and is every bit as heartfelt and endearing as the previous stories have been.
Dillon Hatcher is Cole’s younger brother and is just as overwhelmed and disgruntled by his interfering mother and her devious plans to pick the perfect bride. But when she goes one step to far with her youngest son, Dillon leaves the home he loves above all else and heads for the Last Chance ranch and his brother and Granma’s welcoming embrace.
Hailey Pennington is a privileged, wealthy socialite who has spent her life, living to the extreme. No activity is off limits and the thrill of the challenge is what gets her heart racing most. Christened Hellion by her three brothers, Hailey never backs down and is determined to experience all that she can. But her infatuation for one sexy Hatcher brother may be her biggest challenge of all, as he’s equally determined to avoid any woman with money and social standing that will appeal to his mother’s desires for public acceptance.
Dillon and Hailey’s story is jam-packed with misunderstandings, misplaced pride and self-refection that comes at a cost. Their characters are wonderful and reel you in from the very first time you meet them; and the storyline is easy flowing and written at just the right pace. I loved everything about this book and know that this author will remain a must read in the future.
