Getting Schooled

Getting Schooled is book 1 in the Getting Some Series and if this book is anything to go by Emma Chase has another hit on her hands. This is an easy to read funny sweet and sexy full of cuteness type of book. Garrett is the hot football coach that also doubles up as a history teacher in his hometown high school, he grew up in this town got educated at the school he now teaches in and he loves his job and his life. Callie was his high school sweetheart she was the one and when she wanted to follow her dream all those years ago he loved her enough to let her go and now she is back in town looking after her parents and teaching drama at his school the problem is will he be able to let her go for a second time....
This book has some very funny laugh out loud moments it’s easy to fall in love with Garrett the man who put the love of his life’s dreams first, the chemistry is sizzling and I loved the interaction with the kids. If you are looking for a book that will leave you smiling like a Cheshire Cat this is the book to read. Looking forward

Getting Schooled by Emma Chase

I always have high expectations of Emma Chase: her books are always filled with warmth, humor, and great characters. Getting Schooled was no exception and I enjoyed this second-chance romance so very much.

This isn't your somewhat typical second-chance romance though. Garrett and Callie didn’t break up in anger. They didn’t have a huge fight and call things off. There wasn’t even another party involved in the demise of their relationship. Instead, they’d made a wise yet heartbreaking decision to call things off when they went to different colleges. Callie rarely returned home for visits, going on to eventually obtain a much-worked for position as Executive Producer of the Fountain Theater Company while Garrett stayed home to become a high-school history teacher and the football coach.

When hilarious circumstances force Callie to return home and look after her parents, she takes up a temporary position -at the same high school as Garrett- as the new theater teacher. Watching these two reconnect was so nice. Things weren’t overly rushed but the feelings they had for each other had never really died so that meant that they didn’t have to work past anger and hurt which was great. The book wasn’t riddled with angst so that was a plus in my opinion. Overall, I thought it was great book that had me smiling and swooning throughout.
