Byline: MICHELSON ELA AZO'O - e-mail: azooela@yahoo.fr, FERNAND-NESTOR TCHUENGUEM FOHOUO AND JEAN MESSI xperiments were made to evaluate the impact of the floral activity of the insect visiting fauna on Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench (Malvaceae) seed yields. Two lots of 753 flowers (in 2009) and 634 flowers (in 2010) were differentiated according to the presence or the absence of protection for insect visits. The foraging entomofauna, the rhythm of insect activity, the fruit set rate and the mean number of seeds per pod were recorded. Results showed 9 and 4 insect species in 2009 and 2010 foraged on A. esculentus flowers.
