Kadrey doesn't shy away from the horror of pain and madness here, nor does he spare Stark's companions, so much so that he begins with a trigger warning. King Bullet
Pure Sandman Slim all the way. Scarified, sucker punched by his life, heartsick and cranky (which is just what you not want him to be) and confused by the bleeding obvious until he is bleeding so bad it IS obvious, this is a page turner that I didn’t want to put down. Just great.
