Lord of Temptation
Erica Ridley takes us on another journey in this emotional book of lost love and family values. Ten years is a long time without the one you love yet Hawk does not give up, he wants Faith back in his life, unfortunately with time her family has prospered more, can Hawk win Faith back not knowing she has kept a secret from him for 10 years, hurt and confused Hawk fights his way back to bring into his life the family values he has always wanted.
Stand alone book but we have meet these two characters in Erica’s previous book. Well worth the read
A lot can happen in 10 years
I have enjoyed the other books in this series and I also enjoyed this one. It is not necessary to have read the other books before you pick up this one. Although both Faith and Hawke appear in previous books we really don’t find out anything about them until this book.
Ten years is a long time to love another without knowing what has happened to them. This is the fate of Faith and Hawke. Their young love was ended by Hawke’s family and his estates’ poverty. Faith’s family were in trade and not deemed to be suitable for a marquess. Their love story I’d ended in angry words: forced on Hawke’s part and reactionary on Faith’s.
Faith and Hawke attempt to move on and create a life without the other. Faith’s family become wealthy and their lives improve, but they are still not ‘tonne’ material. Hawke has spent everyday of the last ten years trying to pay off the financial mess he inherited. His estate is still not making any money, but he has plans in place to finish paying his debts and create wealth.
When the two meet again the spark is still there, but can the love be rekindled?
The things I liked most about this book was hearing the thoughts of these two people. They both carry issues from their childhoods and must find a way to work through them. Faith has a secret she has kept from Hawke, which is his worst fear. Anger, pain, sorrow and finally understanding make this story one worth reading. A strong theme of family runs through this book and the idea that family is what you make it, not what is written on paper.
I was given this book as an ARC.
