PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Kelk (On a Night Like This) draws fromCyrano de Bergeracin her sparkling latest. British greeting card writer Phoebe Chapman heads to L.A. to spend time with her sister, Suzanne—only for Suzanne to be called out of town for work, leaving Phoebe alone in her beautiful Hollywood Hills home. Determined to make the best of her situation, hopeless romantic Phoebe finds fast friends in her sister's charismatic personal trainer, aspiring actor Bel Johnson, and her gorgeous and gracious neighbor, Ren Garcia. Bel has a crush on Ren that renders her incapable of speech whenever he's around, so Phoebe offers to play matchmaker by writing love letters to Ren and signing them from Bel. As this ruse goes on, however, Phoebe realizes with horror that she's falling for Ren herself. Convinced that love is not in the cards for her after the painful end of a toxic relationship, Phoebe attempts to ignore her feelings. But which woman does Ren really love? Lindsey makes it easy to understand what both Phoebe and Bel see in hunky Ren, a kind soul who loves to bird-watch, and the love triangle refreshingly does not come at the expense of female friendship. This is a treat.
Customer Reviews
Love me do
Cute & humorous romcom.
The characters are so adorable & wholesome anyone would want to be friends with them. Surrounds the reader with warm fuzzy feelings, just lovely.
Unfortunate
Couldn’t finish. I really wanted to like it but I didn’t.
The plot went in very random directions at times, I was cringing a lot through this book.
