TWO MISSING WOMEN. ONE WITNESS. SO MANY LIES . . . The brand-new thriller by the number-one bestselling and award-winning master of crime
Twenty years ago, Cyrus Haven's family was murdered. Only he and his brother survived. Cyrus because he hid. Elias because he was the killer.
Now Elias is being released from a secure psychiatric hospital and Cyrus, a forensic psychologist, must decide if he can forgive the man who destroyed his childhood.
As he prepares for the homecoming, Cyrus is called to a crime scene in Nottingham. A man is dead and his daughter, Maya, is missing. Then a second woman is abducted . . . The only witness is Evie Cormac, a troubled teenager with an incredible gift: she can tell when you are lying.
Both missing women have dark secrets that Cyrus must unravel to find them - and he and Evie know better than anybody how the past can come back to haunt you . . .

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
In British author Robotham's fine third Cyrus Haven novel (after 2020's When She Was Good), forensic psychologist Cyrus consults with police when a man and his daughter are found murdered in their home. After the disappearance of a second victim, Cyrus begins to see connections to a fatal incident that occurred years earlier. However, when Evie Cormac, his bright but troubled ward, inadvertently interferes in the investigation, Cyrus's ability to probe further into the mystery is compromised. Meanwhile, his own fractured past is about to catch up with him. When Cyrus was a boy, his older brother, Elias, then 19, murdered their parents and twin sisters, and after 20 years in a psychiatric hospital, Elias is now being released. Can Cyrus and Evie endure living under the same roof with a psychotic killer? Robotham does a good job infusing suspense into the well-constructed plot, but at the end of the day this series is all about Cyrus and Evie. While pairings of older male investigators with younger female protégés are fairly common in crime fiction, Cyrus and Evie stand out from the pack. Readers will want to see a lot more of them.
Customer Reviews
An excellent insight.
Having a brother who was a nurse in a mental hospital, and, after some of the visits I made, and the follow up’s from him, gave me an insight into how some of the characters ticked. I hope there’s more to follow.
brilliant and engrossing story!

Great storyteller
I have yet to find a Robotham book that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed. Great story.
