Publisher Description
The ninth thriller in the Joe O'Loughlin series, the inspiration for the major ITV series The Suspect starring Aidan Turner.
'Superbly constructed . . . a breathtaking twist' Daily Mail
Childhood sweethearts William and Mary have been married for sixty years. William is a celebrated surgeon, Mary a devoted wife. Both have a strong sense of right and wrong.
This is what their son, Joe O'Loughlin, has always believed. But when Joe is summoned to the hospital with news that his father has been brutally attacked, his world is turned upside down. Who is the strange woman crying at William's bedside, covered in his blood - a friend, a mistress, a fantasist or a killer?
Against the advice of the police, Joe launches his own investigation. As he learns more, he discovers sides to his father he never knew - and is forcibly reminded that the truth comes at a price.
Although the Joe O'Loughlin books can be read in any order, The Other Wife is the ninth in the series after Close Your Eyes.
And don't miss Michael Robotham's new #1 bestselling Cyrus Haven & Evie Cormac series, beginning with Good Girl, Bad Girl.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Michael Robotham is known for his fast-clip, suspenseful thrillers—and The Other Wife—the ninth and final book in the Joe O’Loughlin series—is no exception. Though we’re accustomed to our psychologist hero investigating the lives and crimes of others, here, he takes a look at himself. After his father slips into a coma, Joe reflects back on his home life and unearths secrets about his family’s past. We’re sad to farewell Joe and his detective partner, Vincent Ruiz—but The Other Wife is an utterly gripping end to the long-running series.

Quite a journey
This story has the reader continually guessing ‘who done it’. When the truth is revealed it is a little surprising, but when everything is explained, it makes sense.
Sometimes I think the main character, Joe, is put through too many ordeals. He never seems to get a break.
Good story though.
The Other Wife
This was a book full of outdated cliques and reinforced my general dislike of male behaviour. The father had no redeeming features and no one seemed to care, especially that he had two families! In most cases the women were all junior to their partners and of course they were throwing themselves at our hero, Joe (the nanny and the detective, both young enough to be his daughter). Of course the women are compliant and facilitate the bad behaviour but apparently enjoy being doormats.
This book annoyed me so much I barely skimmed the disappointing ending.
The Other Wife
Couldn’t put the book down. You never quite no which direction you’re going with a Michael Robotham story which is always riveting. He not only tells a great story but his characters come alive. I’ve enjoyed every single one of his books both in his series as well as stand alone books. Look forward to my next read..
