Publisher Description
Billy’s life has derailed. Although he does well at school, he has no friends and is bullied by the school’s chief tormenter, Anthony. His mum, a nurse, is having financial difficulties and often comes home exhausted with a takeaway meal and little time for him. Billy finds comfort in his only friend, who is online, and doesn’t even know his real name. Oh, and the wheelchair doesn’t really help things either. All he wants is to be accepted and move on with life so he can be happy.
Making Tracks is a hopeful story of one boy’s struggle to belong in a world that’s trying to bring him down.

A fantastic book!
I was a bit hesitant going into this novel, as it is not like anything I have read before. However, to my pleasant surprise, it was a fantastic read! It is a great coming-of-age story that makes one reflect on their own upbringing and own young choices. I feel as though it would be great for young people going into their teenage years to learn detrimental life lessons like not judging a book by it’s cover and the great importance of forgiveness. A wonderful book that pulls at the heartstrings. Thanks Scott G. Gibson!
What a great read!
I read the paperback version and have preordered a digital copy as well.
What a wonderfully heart warming story! Follows the life of Billy McDonald, a wheelchair-bound teenager, who has a horrible life at school.
I loved the writing style, filled with descriptive language and engaging the imagination. The characters are realistically portrayed and memorable.
Highly recommended for fans of contemporary young adult fiction.
