MUST HATE DOGS
Do you hate dogs? Only want to talk about yourself? Is having a sense of humor something you’ve never been accused of? Think eating for pleasure is a complete waste of time? Agree that tipping is for suckers? Then you’re the date for me.
Dixon Beckett is the kind of guy who loves his mama, treats women right, and never ever wants to fall in love again. That’s why he’ll do anything to win a bet to be the last single man standing by Christmas.
He’s got a plan, too. Create the most no-good, horrible, very bad dating profile in existence. Only someone actually responds to his ad...
The rules say he has to go on six dates with the first (or in his case, only) person who answers—even if that person is Fiona Hartigan: Hater of dogs, non-lover of any delicious food, and zero sense of humor.
But something feels off about this pariah. In fact, Dixon is almost positive Fiona is just pretending to be awful. Pretending to be the most horrible date in existence. And she’s most definitely pretending to not be as interested in him as he is in her.
The more Dixon Beckett starts to unravel the mystery of why Fiona answered his ad in the first place, the more he starts considering the most vile, awful, terrible idea ever…falling in love.
Each book in the Last Man Standing series is STANDALONE:
* Mama's Boy
* Neanderthal
* Mansplainer
Customer Reviews
An Entertaining, witty story!
Mama’s Boy is the first book in a promising new series from Ms Flynn.
Its a rather entertaining story with good banter, outrageous witty moments and family who tell it like it is!
I enjoyed reading about Dixon and his bet with his cousins but also when he meets Fiona Hartigan, lets just say the funny moments are rather up there. I may have been anxious about Fiona’s story but what I really loved was her family’s unwavering support and the way she grew. I also rather admired her sass and go get em attitude.
What happens when the truth comes out? Or feelings are involved? Will there be a winner after all? Only one way to find out is by reading for yourself.
Cant wait for the next book in the series! Bring it on!
Entertaining
What a wonderful start to the new Last Man Standing Series and if you are looking for a fun, entertaining read to escape with look no further than Mama’s Boy. If Dixon Beckett and Fiona Hartigan’s story is anything to go by Avery Flynn will certainly have another hit series on her hands.
Dixon, Nash and Griff are cousins, they do everything together and determined to win the last wrapped Christmas gift left by their Grandma Beckett they embark on an unusual bet. The cousins each set up dating profiles for each other and to say Dixon’s is not flattering is an understatement but Dixon will do what ever is needed to win this bet.
Fiona has been trying to get a meeting with Dixon to help with her business so when she sees his dating profile it’s like a dream come true. What follows is a fun, entertaining read that will appeal to all romantic comedy lovers. I laughed a lot throughout this read, I fell hard and fast for the characters and I became engrossed in their story within the first couple of pages and there was no putting down until the final line had been read.
This is Avery Flynn at her best and I can’t wait for the other cousins stories.
Loved it
I was excited when I learnt that Avery Flynn had a new series releasing. If Mama’s Boy is anything to go by then I think she will have a winning series on her hands. This is Dixon Beckett and Fiona Hartigan’s story and what a fun, entertaining story it was.
Determined to win the last wrapped Christmas present left by their Grandma Beckett, Dixon and his cousins Nash and Griff agree to an unusual bet. However Dixon is determined to win at all costs. His cousin's have set up his dating profile and to say it is horrible is an understatement. Fiona is fed up with dating duds and when she sees Dixon’s profile she jumps at the chance as she has been trying to meet with him regarding her business.
There were so many laugh out loud moments that my husband thought I was going crazy. I really liked Dixon and Fiona, she is such a sassy, feisty woman. This was a well written story with witty banter and characters whose story you cannot help but be drawn to.
The secondary characters were engaging, particularly Fiona’s family, but the big question is what will happen when feelings become involved? Could Dixon and Fiona actually be a perfect match?
