Good storytelling. Wildly implausible plot.

Formula Michael Crichton

Love reading his books but I am finding them to be a bit predictable these days. This one was a bit of a stretch on the idea that "it could happen" and I just found it hard to buy in to any of the possibilities unlike his other stories. A bit disappointed but still full of action and adventure so a good book to take on a plane ride.

Not the usual

Michael Crichton and Richard Preston have a history of fantastic books based around a solid scientific possibility. This book sadly doesn't live up to expectations.
It is still well written and the story flows at an excellent pace, but the basic premise has been done in B grade comedy form before.
