STRATAGEM FOR THE RESTORATION OF RESPECTABILITY TO THE DUKE OF STANHOPE:
Step 1: Find perfect wife
Step 2: Save reputation from ruin
Step 3: Do not, at any cost, fall in love with Selina Ravenscroft
Peter Kent, newly inherited Duke of Stanhope, has developed quite the scandalous reputation - which must be overturned if he is to win the guardianship of his young half siblings.
For help he turns to Lady Selina Ravenscroft, society's most proper debutante (save one tiny secret...). She suggests courtship and marriage to a lady of unimpeachable character - which due to the aforementioned secret is definitely not Selina herself.
But her matchmaking goes awry when the scorching chemistry between them proves impossible to resist. For the disreputable duke and his unpredictable matchmaker, falling in love might just be the ultimate scandal...

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
An American in London pairs with a seemingly respectable lady with a licentious secret in the captivating first Belvoir's Library Regency from Vasti (the Halifax Hellions series). New Orleans native Peter Kent never expected to inherit a British dukedom, but now that he has, he's determined to use the position to care for his recently discovered young half siblings. Kent faces some hurdles to becoming their guardian, however, due to his foreign status and outspoken views on abolition. Kent turns to his only ally, the esteemed Lady Selina Ravenscroft, to improve his standing in British society and find a suitable wife. Selina quickly realizes that she herself is the best candidate for the marriage of convenience—but she has a secret: she is the purveyor of a clandestine library of pornographic literature to enlighten and titillate her fellow society women. If the truth comes out, it could destroy both her and Kent's reputations and snuff out their burgeoning mutual attraction. The plot feels fresh and exciting with tension and tenderness stemming from Selina's dual identity and Kent's dedication to his tween siblings. As hot as it is heartfelt, this will have historical romance fans hooked. Agent Jessica Alvarez, Bookends Literary.
Customer Reviews
Warm, fun, ridiculously readable
This was one of those books that’s just a real joy. The characters are lovely, warm, real human beings and god it’s such a relief to read a book where they aren’t brooding and haunted by dark traumas. This is a romance for the romantics who love love, and watching people do their best for their loved ones, and for themselves.
Read it and enjoy the delicious coziness and laugh out loud, and tell your friends to read it. This author deserves a legion of fans!
