5 star Review Outsider (Exodus End # 2) by Olivia Cunning
This is the second book in the exciting Exodus End series and is also the sequel to Double Time book 5 in the Sinners on Tour series. Outsider continues the story of Reagan Elliot and the two men she is in love with, her hot bodyguard Ethan Conner and sexy guitarist Trey Mills.
Regan is finally living the life that she has dreamed off, but fear of exposure can cause so much pressure. She loves both men, but fears the backlash to them all if the public were to find out that they are in a polyamorous relationship, not to mention judgmental family.
However with this type of relationship, issues and insecurities will arise. Reagan, Trey and Ethan all struggle at times to work out where they fit in the relationship. Throw in the fact that Reagan still struggles to feel as though she belongs with Exodus End and complications will and do arise.
What happens when all is revealed? Can Reagan, Trey and Ethan’s relationship survive the test or will they buckle under the pressures of the public and their families? Or will their insecurities and at times ability to trust destroy them?
Outsider really refers to Reagan in my opinion. She struggles throughout the book with the fact that she is only a temporary replacement for Exodus End and has no idea where her career will go after she completes the gig with the band. She also appears to have little in common with the other band members’ wives and girlfriends and all in all appears to constantly feel that she is on the outside looking in.
This book is extremely well written and has certainly been worth the wait. From the moment I started reading this book I was hooked. After a great deal of angst and heartache, not to mention some totally hot scenes it was awesome to see is how, together they all overcome their issues as they reached for and grabbed their happily ever after. When these three come together the sparks certainly fly, their chemistry sizzles, from the instant their hands touch; these three are meant to be together.
This book made me laugh and cry; Olivia Cunning’s characters are at times complex and yet so simple, the love and friendships shared are inspirational. One of the things I most enjoy about this series is that there is usually the opportunity to catch up with characters from the previous books; this group of family and friends is one I would happily be a part of.
