STEAMY
I was blown away by how quickly I became wrapped up in the storyline. I liked the progression of the characters as the story unfolded. I was drawn to this book by reading Megan’s struggles, and Hayse's never gives up attitude. Hayes knew what he wanted, but it took time for Megan to trust him. I enjoyed the emotional journey of their relationship. Hayes was an ex-navy seal now working for Alpha Mountain Security as a mercenary, and an ex-marine never gives up. Megan’s background could not be more different with her having spent time in the juvenile system after her father let her take the fall. Now she spent her days keeping the peace.
Hayes and Megan's relationship was like a roller coaster with its ups and downs. Hayes was determined to take it to a deeper level, but he was fighting Megan’s trust issues, and I don't blame her. Unfortunately, we didn't get to pick our family, and Megan lucked out. She was fighting a losing battle. It was impossible to deny her attraction for Hayes. Megan’s father's reappearance in her life was unexpected and unwanted.
It is evident from the start that this book had the entertainment and excitement value I was looking for. Megan was a strong heroine who was intuitive. I admitted courage and resilience. This story is full of sexual tension and heat with a soul-deep connection.
