APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Lauren Weisberger’s insights into the media had us laughing the whole way through The Devil Wears Prada. She finally returns to this fertile ground in Revenge Wears Prada, with Andy now several years older and wiser, but still completely unprepared for the onslaught that is Miranda Priestly.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Nearly a decade after The Devil Wears Prada, Weisberger revisits her heroine Andy Sachs former assistant to the vicious Miranda Priestly of Runway magazine. Now the editor of her own wildly successful bridal magazine, Andy is about to marry media mogul Max Harrison. Although all seems to be going well, a series of events catapult Andy back to her self-conscious Runway days. Her image-obsessed mother-in-law (whose over the top snobbery makes her nearly indistinguishable from Miranda) thinks Andy isn't good enough for Max, and her business partner Emily wants to sell their magazine to Elias-Clark, the publisher of Runway, which would make Andy once again a servant to Miranda. Weisberger adds many plot elements that put Andy and her lifetyle in jeopardy and while the resolutions won't shock Andy's character is what drives the book, after all- this sequel is a fun summer read.
Customer Reviews
OK
I enjoyed reading the book except the ending was very disappointing.
This is just awful
I started reading this directly after finishing The Devil Wears Prada, and I would not recommend it.
TDWP is in first person and this is written in third. At first I assumed this was an intentional editorial decision, but as I got further into the book I started to think maybe they simply never picked up the first book to compare.
It reads like the author of this has never even read TDWP let alone is the same author. The characters bear no resemblance to the previous book, Andy is a mindless moron, and her nephews don’t even have the same name as the previous book. Worst of all it commits the gravest sin a simple flick like this could commit: it’s boring.
If I could give this 0 stars I would.
Boring
Very boring waste of time there was no excitement or motivation in this book, very disappointing
