Almost brilliant
Amazing beginning to a fantasy series.
Book one really is enthralling in its plots, twists and bringing the different characters to life.
It’s been a long time since I couldn’t put a book down.
Only reason i didn’t review 5 stars is due to some grammar errors throughout the second half of the book that resulted in having to reread a sentence or paragraph for it to flow correctly.
I almost never review but this book deserves one
Mixed review.
This is a difficult review to write. Let’s start with good - I finished this book and it had potential… Now the not so good. Rice is no Gemmell or Abercrombie (far far from it) - she’s a lazy writer who has a knack to saying the same thing twice in a paragraph. There are just too many tropes, co-incidences and inconsistencies. I’d give examples - and I can give many, but take it as read. This book could have used the services a good editor to clean up.
Hooked from the beginning
Out of the way Harry, Voldemort is gone, but Kyra is moving in with a whole new kingdom-wide war for us to enjoy. 😉
