Publisher Description
If you love Julia Quinn's Bridgerton, Downton Abbey and Pride and Prejudice you'll fall head over heels for Sanditon!
A novelisation of ITV's lavish period drama, Sanditon, adapted for television by Emmy and BAFTA-Award winning writer Andrew Davies and based on Jane Austen's unfinished novel.
When a chance accident transports Charlotte Heywood to the seaside town of Sanditon, her life changes forever. And when she meets the charming and slightly wild Sidney Parker, she finds herself caught up in a whirlwind of romance, betrayal and changing alliances - nobody in Sanditon is quite as they seem.
Discover the world Jane Austen left behind and meet the characters brought to the page by Kate Riordan. Every coastal town has its secrets - but Sanditon has more than most!

Boring
So boring
A thoroughly and disappointingly modern transposition
A lover of Jane Austen’s novels for many years, I am finally writing my first review. As a stand alone story it is very much a contemporary ‘Historical Romance’, and as well written as many. As a transposition of Jane Austen’s work it resembles her style and sensibilities in my opinion not in the slightest part. It takes away her clever witticisms and sharp understanding of the weaknesses in her characters and replaces it with modern sordidness and displaying of scandals in such a way that leaves nothing to the imagination. Unfortunately instead of the depth of flawed but loveable characters of a Austen novel it is merely a tawdry shallow facsimile, that does not draw one back to read more than once. Even if BBC did make it into a mini series, there is nothing of Jane Austen excepting
the original plot.
Sanditon
Loved it! Need the next book to complete the love story between Sidney and Charlotte however.
