Publisher Description
Readers back for a third round of the bestselling Cocktail series will enjoy a madcap romantic comedy about bodice ripping and chest heaving, fiery passion and love everlasting. Plus a dash of paperwork filing and horseshi—wait, what?
By day, Viv Franklin is a tough-as-nails software engineer who designs programs and loves hospital corners. By night, Vivian’s a secret romance-novel junkie who longs for a knight in shining armor, or a cowboy on a wild stallion, or a strapping firefighter to sweep her off her feet. And she gets to wear the bodice—don’t forget the bodice.
When a phone call brings news that she’s inherited a beautiful old home in Mendocino, California from a long-forgotten aunt, she moves her entire life across the country to embark on what she sees as a great, romance-novel-worthy adventure. But romance novels always have a twist, don’t they?
There’s a cowboy, one that ignites her loins. Because Cowboy Hank is totally loin-ignition worthy. But there’s also a librarian, Clark Barrow. And he calls her Vivian. Can tweed jackets and elbow patches compete with chaps and spurs? You bet your sweet cow pie.
In Screwdrivered, Alice Clayton pits Superman against Clark in a hilarious and hot battle that delights a swooning Viv/Vivian. Also within this book, an answer to the question of the ages: Why ride a cowboy when you can ride a librarian?

Screwdrivered is the third book in the Cocktail series by Alice Clayton. We absolutely loved this book, the heroine was fun and sassy. We love reading about heroines like her. This book is laugh out loud funny.
Alice Clayton has delivered another amazing addition to the Cocktail series a book with characters who will keep you on your toes and have you flipping pages wanting to know more. The banter and sexual chemistry our heroine has with her male interests will have you laughing out loud.
We meet Viv earlier on in the series, she was the firecracker from Simon's High School reunion. She's a software designer who loves to travel, she can work from anywhere thanks to the luck of having her own company. After her great aunt dies and leaves her an amazing home in California she decides to take a risk, and a new adventure...
The first man she meets is a sexy cowboy, Hank, he leaves a bitter first impression. All he gives her are a few grunts here and there when she tries to make an effort to talk to him. The second guy she meets is Clark, he's the librarian and historian who runs the historical society. Making her jump through hoops and disagreeing with every little change she wants to make to her newly acquired home.
Viv is tangled, her body may want one sexy cowboy but she finds herself surprisingly attracted to the librarian. Surely she's not attracted to a man who wore elbow patches...
Viv is embracing her new life and wants to get the wheels in motion on renovations to her new home, she is far from impressed when she realises she needed to run every thing through Clark...
When it comes down to choosing a man is it the sexy cowboy with few words or the plaid elbow patch librarian who has her heart?
