BRYCE:
I'm the guy the entire team loves to hate. Not only am I one of the Sockeyes' best players, but I make sure everyone knows it. No woman has ever held my heart until I meet Tia. She's everything I am, gorgeous, rude, arrogant with a capital 'TUDE, and we're both concealing soul-shattering pain. Together we're fire and ice, a combo I can't resist and one that has me worried I've finally succumbed to the worst four-letter word in the English language--LOVE.
TIA:
After my mother's tragic death, I've lashed out and driven away everyone who ever cared about me. The pain is so great, I feel I don’t deserve friendship or love. Along comes Bryce. We're kindred spirits. He's as damaged as I am. Out of our grief, something special begins to sprout, but our tendency to destroy anything good in our lives threatens the best thing that's ever happened to us. Only Bryce refuses to give up while I'm finding old habits die hard. Barricading my heart is easier than taking the risk of being hurt again.

Ticked all my boxes
This is a wonderful addition to the Scoring Series and from the moment I picked up Slapshot I was drawn into Tia and Bryce’s journey, I was captivated and kept on the edge of my seat throughout this entertaining and emotional read. Bryce and Tia are opposites, he is a star hockey player who is selfish and arrogant when it comes to the game he loves and she is a socialite trying to find her own way after losing her mother but the one thing they have in common is the passion they have for their careers, his is hockey and hers is riding and competing with her show horses. They meet at a party and sparks fly but it was only meant to be one night ….. so what happens when they decide one night us not enough. One click to find out. What starts off as two selfish people only interested in themselves soon turns into so much more as they give into love. It’s not long before the friends start to become each other’s rocks, they learn from each other’s mistakes and they realise that in life you can’t be rude and nasty to the everyone around you because when it comes to the crunch we all need friends….. This is a great read that ticked my boxes.
Enjoyable
This was a good addition to the Scoring series and although not my favourite it was an entertaining story that ticked a number of boxes for me. I had a hard time relating to Bryce and Tia, they are alike in so many ways and certainly rubbed people up the wrong way.
Both Bryce and Tia are in a world of pain and constantly take it out on those around them. Their grief brings them together and they are soon moving towards a relationship, that is if Tia doesn’t sabotage it before it gets a chance. I liked that Bryce was determined to move their relationship forward and refused to give up even when Tia went on the attack.
There were moments when I was on the edge of my seat whilst reading and wasn't sure that they would get the happily ever after that they both deserved.
