I want to.
I can’t.
I’ve been friends with Cooper Rice from the moment we met. He was just as famous a decade ago on our college campus as he is now being the star quarterback for the Chicago Grizzlies.
But he’s not only talented on the field, he’s also the gorgeous football star women fawn over, posing in underwear and razor ads.
Here’s a secret those women don’t know—Cooper Rice isn’t a playboy. He’s the kind of man who wants to settle down with a family. He’s content ordering pizza and massaging my feet after my long shift as an emergency room doctor. He listens to me as if he’s as invested as I am in my patients. He has never let me down.
This is exactly why I refuse to live without Cooper in my life. Eight years ago, I made him promise me that we’d never cross that line. And just like I knew Cooper would, he’s held to that promise.
Despite our best efforts, our relationship is evolving, shifting into new territory and I find myself unsure if I want Cooper to keep that promise. Ignoring the obvious could tear us apart, but so could giving in, meaning there’s a chance I’ll lose Cooper forever no matter what decision I make.

Cooper and Ellery are finally together as a couple!
I loved this book. It explores Cooper’s and Ellery’s friendship from their college days to the present. These two are in love with each other but are afraid to take the next step. The book also explores the pressure Ellery and Cooper have from their fathers regarding their careers as a doctor and a professional football player.
It takes Bradley, one of Cooper’s teammates to start dating Ellery for Cooper to literally wake up and realise his feelings for Ellery.
Cooper punches Bradley at a nightclub after an away game between the Kingsmen and the Grizzlies. Bradley is hitting on a woman in the night club despite dating Ellery. Cooper sees red and punches him for disrespecting Ellery. Miles and Damon have to pull Cooper away from Bradley.
Ellery is not impressed with either Bradley’s or Cooper’s actions as this fight has repercussions for her as an emergency room doctor. She breaks up with Bradley and is furious with Cooper. Ellery and Cooper stop talking to each other.
One of my favourite parts of the book is when Bryce, Miles, Adeline and Damon set up Cooper and Ellery. Ellery and Cooper are forced to work out their issues in a cabin and admit their feelings for each other.
I highly recommend this book to others readers.
Loved everything about this book
I’m really not sure where to start and even if my review can do this amazing story justice. So I guess I just need to say that I loved everything about this book and for me Something Like Love (Chicago Grizzlies #3) a perfect addition to one of my favourite football series. Cooper and Ellory aka Elle have been best friends since their college days but after one fateful night way back when, neither have wanted to risk their friendship by crossing the line. But it seems their friends have decided to force their hands and make or break this couple……. Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder did a fantastic job with the narration bringing the characters and their story to life. They were spot on with the emotion and the banter and very easy to listen too. I fell hard and fast for Cooper and Elle was a girl I would love in my corner and she really felt like a real friend because at times I wanted to treat her just like I would a friend by showing her what is right under her nose. The characters are adorable, the team camaraderie is fun to be part off, the chemistry is sizzling but what made this book so special was the smile I was left with and the fact I didn’t want this book to end. A beautifully written, funny and emotional read that I highly recommend.
Loved it
Having got a glimpse of team members in the previous books I could not wait to read/listen to Something Like Love which is Cooper and Ellory’s (Elle) story.
Cooper has been in love with his best friend Elle for years but neither of them have been prepared to cross the line. When a fall out causes tension within the group of friends, they decide to force Cooper and Eller’s hands.
Cooper melted my melt with his unconditional love for Elle. Their journey had its ups and downs (and at times I wanted to shake some sense into Elle), but it was entertaining and emotional to watch their relationship develop as they finally took a chance on love.
Narrated by Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder whose performances were on point. Their voices are not only easy to listen too, but they were well suited to the characters. They did justice to not only the story but they brought the characters to life for me with the humour, romance, angst and camaraderie among the friends with their performances.
As I have come to expect from a Piper Rayne book, I know I am in for a witty, well written, at times emotional story and one that will leave me with a smile on my face and often, laughing out loud.
