-------------------------------------------------------
Those we think we know best can sometimes surprise us the most . . .

After being together for ten years, Sylvie and Dan have a comfortable home, fulfilling jobs, beautiful twin girls, and communicate so seamlessly, they finish each other's sentences. They have a happy marriage and believe they know everything there is to know about each other. Until it's casually mentioned to them that they could be together for another sixty-eight years... and panic sets in.

They quickly decide to create little surprises for each other, to keep their relationship fresh and fun. But in their pursuit of Project Surprise Me - anything from unexpected gifts to restaurant dates to photo shoots - mishaps arise with disastrous and comical results.

Gradually, the surprises turn to shocking discoveries. And when a scandal from the past is uncovered, they begin to wonder if they ever really knew each other after all. . .

Loved every twist

This story made me laugh, cry, get angry and so much more. Absolutely brilliantly written. Dan & Sylvie’s story is an emotional rollercoaster but totally worth the read. Recommend to all

300 pages in

Well this is unusual for me. I’m 300 pages in. I put the book down last night, tried to pick it up tonight. I have no idea who the characters are or what is going on. So I skipped back and tried to re-read (for the second time) and found myself just bored reading on still not absorbing the book. Can’t bring myself to care about the character her horrible screaming daughters or their neighbour. Know I read these pages, still can’t care enough to properly absorb them when re-reading.
Like I said this is not normal for me. Maybe it is just me and not my style of book? I normally love this author though. I just don’t think I can persist. The book feels like hard work.
