Publisher Description
The 6:20 Man is a heart-racing thriller set in the world of high finance in New York, from the number one bestselling author David Baldacci.
A journey that took him to hell . . .
Having survived combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq and been decorated with medals, Travis Devine mysteriously leaves the Army under a cloud of suspicion. And at thirty-two years old, he’s swapping fighting the Taliban and Al Qaeda for a different kind of danger in the cut-throat world of high finance.
His daily commute on the 6.20 a.m. train into New York’s financial district, to his new job as an analyst at the minted powerhouse investment bank Cowl and Comely, takes him into a world where greed, power, jealousy and ambition result in the financial abuse of the masses and the enrichment of an elite few. But it is on this daily journey that he passes a house where he sees something that sounds alarm signals he cannot ignore.
A close friend of Devine’s, Sarah Ewes, is the first victim and the mysterious circumstances surrounding her death at Cowl and Comely compel him to investigate further. As he digs deeper, he discovers strange coincidences and unnerving truths. As the deaths pile up, and the major players show their hands, he must question who he can trust and who he must fight.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
A troubled veteran is blackmailed into becoming a financial investigator in David Baldacci’s conspiracy-laced thriller. Former Army Ranger Travis Devine has left the military for a dreary job in finance. When the newly minted MBA’s co-worker and ex-girlfriend Sara Ewes dies, his tiresome routine is shattered—and he’s pulled into a high-stakes investigation of the firm where he hopes to make his fortune. With his usual skill, Baldacci makes the cutthroat world of Wall Street feel almost like a war zone. And watching Travis, a West Point grad, navigate such unfamiliar terrain in a suit and tie is both interesting and thrilling. As financial fraud gives way to international intrigue at the highest level, you’ll want to spend every waking moment reading The 6:20 Man.

Enjoyed this
Lots of twists and turns
Disappointed
Having become addicted to most of this author’s earlier works, which sadly have not been continued, I assumed this series would be on an Amos Decker or King and Maxwell level. Sadly, it’s not even close. Sub standard plot, unrealistic story line and average-at-best writing, I’m still struggling to believe it’s the same David Baldacci authoring.
Spare yourself the read
This book survives on a continual series of conveniences. It makes for such a weak story when laid over a plot barely worthy of a high school essay. Worst thing I’ve read in a very long time, and whilst I’ve only read a couple of Baldacci books I’d actually recalled those ones positively
