Pretty but lacking! Should be called Pre-Flight Procedures Only!
Although I was a big fan of the author’s previous book.
This one leaves you a little wanting.
Although the design seems ok. It does elude you to thinking it’s better than it is because of the overall layout. I felt it’s an incomplete release that was rushed out for a money grab.
With the title of the book The Airbus A320 Procedures Handbook, it basically only covers the initial arrival to the aircraft, walk around and preflight. Most of the procedures are missing.
It does impart information in a matter of fact way however, its overall presence is sometimes cumbersome and boring.
For something that was first published after Airbus made drastic changes to its standard briefing format. This fails to include the updated version. Poor form for a book that was supposed to breakdown the Airbus SOP’s.
If you’re already flying the bus I would spend your money on a more purposeful and a more complete procedures book.
This fails to excite nor impart much desire to pick the book up again. Seeing the majority of the book is about the pre-flight only. Nothing about most of the procedures from take-off, climb, cruise, descent, approach and landing. Not to mention any low vis, abnormals or emergencies.
This is more tuned for the wannabe flyer that is more interested in the intricate between the lines detail and not the relevant daily aircraft procedures information. This is probably a good starting guide for someone that wanted to start flying the aircraft.
A message to the authors: It’s never too late guys to make some drastic changes to this book. Something that would be more day to day relevant, inspiring and offer something a little more engaging and complete would be good.....
Don’t expect us to spend another $40 on another procedures book that covers what was missing here.
I live in hope.....
