Enjoyable
Jill Shalvis is a relatively new author and I have to say I found The Backup Plan to be well written. This was an entertaining and at times emotional read that had me hooked from the first chapter.
Imagine your surprise when you suddenly find that you have inherited a share in an old Wild West B & B along with the man who broke her heart, Knox and her ex best friend Lauren. That’s the position that Alice finds herself in and she has no idea her life is about to change.
Alice, Knox and Lauren are all haunted by the past and each have secrets that they want to keep buries. Thanks to the will, they now need to renovate and run the inn together or lose their inheritance.
As they work together friendships ignite and love blossoms. However what happens when the renovations are complete? Will they lose the friendship that have formed? Will they throw it all away or take a change ?
It was wonderful to watch the growth of all the characters as the story progressed. The Backup Plan is a story of courage and hope, of looking deep inside oneself and taking a chance.
