Publisher Description
GAILLAC, SOUTH-WEST FRANCE.
An unsolved case.
Gil Petty, America's most celebrated wine critic, is found strung up in a vineyard, dressed in the ceremonial robes of the Order of the Divine Bottle and pickled in wine.
An un-cracked code.
For forensic expert Enzo Macleod, the key to this unsolved murder lies in decoding Petty's mysterious reviews - which could make or break a vineyard's reputation.
An uncorked criminal.
Enzo finds that beneath the tranquil façade of French viticulture lurks a back-stabbing community riddled with rivalry - and someone who is ready to stop him even if they have to kill again.

Not May’s best.
So many crime writers use superfluous descriptions of their settings, people’s clothes but Enzo McLeods obsession with women and how they walk, look, dress, their potential for a bedmate becomes annoying. And with so few options, I guessed who the murderer was.
This is not nearly as good as his Lewis Island series. Still, he is a very clever man.
Not bad but…
The main character’s (author’s?) breast obsession was tiresome, and personally I think any writer who introduces a dog to the story for the sole purpose of having it meet a brutal and sadistic death is just plain ugly.
