Publisher Description
The Front is the second book in the Winston Garano series, from bestselling author Patricia Cornwell.
Massachusetts State Investigator Win Garano is given one of his most challenging cases yet when he is asked to investigate the death of a young British woman murdered more than forty years ago. Assumed to be a victim of the Boston Strangler, blind Janie Brolin was raped and left for dead in 1962.
With no DNA and sketchy police records, this is a case that will test Garano to his limits. It will take him on a journey through the archives, into the latest innovations in forensic technology, and into partnership with senior officers at London's New Scotland Yard.
And as Garano unearths deadly secrets from the past, his hard-nosed boss Monique Lamont is putting both their lives in jeopardy with her lust for power and success. With past and present colliding, the tension mounts with every page...

At Risk and The Front
I have re-read both books and would love to read more in this series. Only two stories feels like being short-changed. Is there any possibility or likelihood of sequels?
Loved it
Great ending never saw it coming you say you did your a liar lol
Upon reading some of the reviews
You can get online
I was expecting a horrible read
What I got was the total opposite it was a great read
So why the negative reviews lol
Well I'm guessing by the Scarpetta references in many reviews
These negative reviews stem from people not being able
To get over the fact that Cornwell has decided to start a new chapter
In her writing career that doesn't include Scarpetta
I love her Scarpetta books but enjoy the Garano series
So in short get over it Cornwell is trying something different
If you can't stand Cornwell not writing about Scarpetta don't read
Her Garano books it's that simple
I repeate don't read the Garano books okay
Don't read the books that don't feature Scarpetta simple
As for the book I enjoyed it it's a quick read
Got better as it went loved Garano really liked Stump
Now at first I must admit I was 50/50 on Stump but as the book went on
I really started to like her the brief characters like Nanna I enjoyed her
Mrs. Murphey was a very brief character but really liked her
Same as Dr Hunter enjoyed him too
The book was a great read ignore the hate
Give it a try the ending I didn't see coming it was rather well done
