Gripping and intense

“Some doors are locked for a reason…”

I have read a few books from Walter now, but none have gotten under my skin more so than this book did. A compelling read from start to finish, I found this to be quite the departure from his other books and I mean that in a good way.

I was instantly invested in it after only the first chapter, which drew me in like a moth to a flame. But there was so much more to the story than I expected and it was the friendship between Danny and Johnathan and their storyline that really made it for me.

Dark and intense this one evoked so many emotions and it covers many themes. There was mystery, secrets, love, grief, friendship, a dysfunctional family and some pretty creepy stuff that made my skin crawl! It kept me on my toes and did require my full attention as it jumped from multiple timelines. All round, I found this to be a quick and thrilling page turner and I look forward to Walter’s next offering.
