Beth O’Leary has already proven her ability to gift us with joyous, uplifting romance novels that make you think. In her fourth, The No-Show, she also reveals her power to unleash a genuinely breathtaking twist. This clever read introduces us to three women who are unknown to one another, but who are all dating good-looking charmer Joseph Carter. There’s Siobhan, a life coach, Jane—who’s left life in the city (and a traumatic event) behind for a job in a bookshop in Winchester—and Miranda, a tree surgeon who’s constantly fending off the advances of a co-worker. When Valentine’s Day rolls round, they’re all excited for their romantic plans with Joseph—except he fails to show up for any of them. You’ll wolf down The No-Show as you attempt to work out why. Has he ghosted all of them? And who is he telling the truth to? Was enjoyable.
Slow to begin with but was a lovely ending. Really enjoy all of beth’s books.
