THE POWER OF EXPERIENCE
Hugh van Cuylenburg was a primary school teacher volunteering in northern India when he had a life-changing realisation: despite the underprivileged community the children were from, they were remarkably positive.

By contrast, back in Australia Hugh knew that all too many people found it hard to be happy, or suffered from mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety. His own little sister had been ravaged by anorexia nervosa.

A PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS
How was it that young people he knew at home, who had food, shelter, friends and a loving family, struggled with their mental health, while these kids seemed so contented and resilient?

He set about finding the answer and in time identified three pivotal traits - gratitude, empathy, and mindfulness - which seemed to underpin the children's resilience.

SHARING WISDOM, IGNITING CHANGE
In the ensuing years Hugh threw himself into studying and sharing this revelation with the world through
The Resilience Project, with his playful and unorthodox presentations which both entertain and inform.

Now, with the same blend of humour, poignancy and clear-eyed insight that The Resilience Project has become renowned for, Hugh explains how we can all get the tools we need to live a happier and more fulfilling life.

READ THIS BOOK AND YOU WILL:
> Learn the secrets of resilience through powerful and touching stories from people Hugh has met and helped during his years on the road.
> Explore the neuroscience of resilience and discover how we can address and cultivate it in our daily lives.
> Embrace the power of gratitude in transforming mental health and enhancing overall wellbeing.
> Overcome personal barriers and obstacles that hinder personal growth and mental health.
> Understand the crucial role of parents in helping raise happier children, and learn practical strategies to do so effectively.

Why Must I Cry 🥹🥲

This book was exactly what I needed… I had no idea about who Hugh was, and had never heard of The Resilience Project. This was simply a recommendation from Apple Books and boy was I in for a treat.

What a beautiful way to inspire others to be more impactful in this world. I’ve never cried this much reading ANY book in my whole life. How can you not feel inspired by Stanzin’s kindness? How can you not connect to the message of wanting to end human suffering for others?

I’ve been writing 3 daily gratitudes since I first read about it in here, and have already noticed a difference in how I think and feel.

Also, I don’t remember the last time I felt THIS inspired by something I’ve read. This book is beautifully written and the mission has been wonderfully executed.

Bless you Hugh, Georgia, Penny, Stanzin, Martin, the entire team at The Resilience Project and every single soul who has helped to bring this mission to life. I am forever grateful to you 🙏✨

Surprised by this one!

I am not a big reader, and I really struggle to find great non-fiction books that keep my interest. I stumbled upon this one, and within Just a few chapters, I found myself racing through the pages and finishing this book in just over two weeks. I haven’t managed to finish a book in the last two years so this was a great success and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to shift their mindset towards a better life.
