Good read. Great wrap up.
A great read and major return to form
I thought PFH might have hit his peak with the Commonwealth Saga but this series is also wonderful. To be slightly critical, there are some themes repeated here from the Commonwealth Saga (e.g. Aliens run by a central ‘mind’, alien thinking influenced by human thoughts, alien brains in human bodies…) but plenty of new concepts here as well
Defines the genre.
Up there with Asimov and Clark. Never read a more pure distillation of the Space Opera genre. Pushes the limits of space, time, moral and social conundrums, and the characters shine like the stars they travel between. Please Peter, when will we get the next instalment?!?!
