All NEW from bestselling psychological thriller writer Keri Beevis
When you’re a kid, you imagine monsters to have horns and fangs. That they hide under the bed or in the wardrobe. And you believe they can only come after you when it’s dark.
You don’t expect them to look like everyday people or that they may be someone you already know…
The summer in question started out with hot, fun-filled days and new friendships.
We had just turned thirteen and had our whole lives ahead of us.
But that was before her…
Before we became known as the Hixton Five and our lives become defined by one night.
It’s hard to believe twenty years have passed since she was locked away.
But now she’s free and strange things have started to happen.
When I close my eyes, the creeping anxiety and fear is overwhelming and all too real.
Because the monster is back, and I know she has a score to settle with us.Praise for The Sleepover 'Another winner from Ms Beevis. A gripping story with plenty of twists and turns.' - J.A. Customer Reviews
Chilling!
“One night… One secret… One nightmare…”
The Sleepover is another great example of Beevis doing what she does best and that is giving the reader a wickedly dark and sinister read!
The plot intrigued and unfolded via multiple points of view, mainly in the present, that was interspersed with flashbacks throughout. It was these flashbacks that slowly revealed what happened that summer 20 years ago to the children dubbed “The Hixton Five” and the trauma they suffered at the hands of the abhorrent Eileen Wickham.
The story was so chilling and for me, a leave a light on read! There were many times that the tiniest sound had me glancing over my shoulder, convinced I would see Eileen Wickham standing there! She definitely got under my skin and is the stuff that nightmares are made of!
All round I found this to be a gripping and intense edge of your seat thriller with great twists that kept me second guessing right till the end!
