Release of Indictment into Hariri's Killing Heightens Tension This week's release by the UN-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) of its long-awaited indictment into the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri has sent political tension soaring in a country sharply divided into two rival camps: one that supports the tribunal and another that rejects it. The sealed indictment, which was accompanied by arrest warrants against four Hizbullah members, including a military commander, accusing them of involvement in Hariri's killing, was delivered on Thursday to Lebanon's Prosecutor General Saeed Mirza by a three-member delegation from the Netherlands-based STL.
